The original 1970 plan cut the kitchen off from every room a family actually gathers in. Oru opened that wall, reworked the load path around it and let the light run the full depth of the house.

Warm wood cabinetry and white oak floors meet a chef’s kitchen with a large island and custom built-ins. The vaulted living room is anchored by a fireplace; the primary bath is finished with a freestanding tub and walk-in shower.

Outside, a modern farmhouse elevation, circular drive and landscaped grounds finish the transformation, and the street still reads as a neighbor rather than a teardown.
